At Stake

The major theme of this project was the social issue of homelessness. After seeing a disheveled women laying on the cement in New York City, across from Lincoln Center beside and jewellery store, Eisert Hall felt a painful compassion that needed to be expressed through her art. People walked by this woman as if she did not exist. Eisert Hall's sense of helplessness to change the structures of society that promote human suffering such as what she observed, urged her to present art works that might help viewers become aware of their surroundings. The personal process during this project, unrelated to the project theme, involved Eisert Hall's grief for the loss of her daughter. At Stake was shown at The Fringe Gallery in Edmonton, Alberta.
